This webinar is part of an instructional design series featuring Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI). Each webinar in the series will focus on best practices for designing online courses to meet RSI criteria. The Authentic Assessment webinar will discuss the need for authentic assessment, how authentic assessment meets the criteria for substantive interaction, and forms of authentic assessment. While completing the webinars as they are offered is encouraged, the RSI series does not have to be completed in order. 

 

Session Date: February 22, 2023, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm

 

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the importance of authentic assessment in the online learning environment 
  • Discuss how authentic assessment fulfills substantive interaction criteria
  • Recognize different forms of authentic assessment

This webinar is being taught by Dr. Christa Wilhite, the Instructional Design Specialist for the Division of eLearning and Instructional Technology at the Mississippi Community College Board. Christa is a graduate of the University of Alabama and holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. Professionally, Christa is focused on integrating technology into instructional practices to create learning experiences that are cohesive across modes of delivery. In her personal life, Christa enjoys applying learning and motivational constructs when working with dogs in a training environment.
