Description:

Created to meet the specific needs of those formatively assessing student assignments, this session demonstrates how Turnitin´s Similarity Report can prevent plagiarism by strengthening writing and investigation skills. This webinar was facilitated by TurnItIn representatives. This session is limited to faculty and staff affiliated with one of the 15 community colleges in the state of Mississippi. If you do not have an institution-associated email address, you will not be permitted to access the webinar.

  • How can the Turnitin Similarity Report help students prevent plagiarism?
  • To what extent can the Similarity Report strengthen students' writing and investigation skills?
  • What steps do instructors follow to create a Turnitin activity in the learning management system?

This webinar was moderated by Dr. Arianna Stokes, the Professional Development Specialist for the Division of eLearning and Instructional Technology at the Mississippi Community College Board. Arianna focuses her efforts on instructional technology, free digital resources, and content accessibility, assisting the MCCB and community colleges through experimental techniques, innovative learning activities, and the pursuance of data-driven decisions to inform Best Practices. Dr. Stokes holds a Ph.D. in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University and a Master of Education in Educational Technology from Belhaven University.
