Description:

This webinar will provide a detailed overview of proctored testing to enhance skills and understanding for instructors and proctors. Participants will gain knowledge in the scheduling process, exam setup, and test security. Additionally, this webinar will provide insight into the student process for proctored testing.

 

Session Date: August 30, 2023, from 12:30, pm to 1:30 pm

 

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Review processes for developing and implementing best practices for proctoring
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the student and instructor roles when using SmarterProctoring through Canvas
  • Apply practical strategies for proctoring effectively
  • Develop plans to balance security measures with creating a positive and respectful experience for students during proctored assessments
  • Explore various proctoring methods and address security concerns

Kellie Penson

Facilitator

This webinar is being taught by Mrs. Kellie Penson, eLearning Coordinator at East Central Community College. Mrs. Penson began her 20th year in the Mississippi Educational system and her first year as eLearning Coordinator in July. She has spent her last 7 years serving the Department of eLearning at East Central Community College as Lead Proctor and administrative assistant.

 Mrs. Penson is a Class of 2000 Circle of Excellence and Honors graduate of Meridian Community College. While in college she was a Dean’s List Honor Student, received a National Speech Communications Award, and was selected as a Who’s Who among National College Students award recipient.

She has been an active member of the Mississippi Educators Computing Association for 13 years. Mrs. Penson has held numerous positions on the board and currently serves as the Exhibitor Support chair. She is also a member of the Mississippi eLearning Leadership Association where she assisted East Central in hosting the 2023 MELA Retreat.

Mrs. Penson is the wife of Chad Penson of Collinsville, MS, and mother of two sons, Peyton, 26 (wife Callie) and Landon, 20. The Penson family enjoys traveling, New Orleans Saints football and when home spending time with their cat, Neauxla and German Shepherd, Steak. She is an active member of Pine Grove Church where she enjoys working with the children’s department and singing in the choir.
