Description:

This session will cover best practices for utilizing Dropout Detective as a faculty member and as an ally for students. User Dashboard and Student Profile access will be discussed in addition to the Course Overview tab and Notes tab. The webinar will include information pertaining to features like Alerts and Tags, the charts in the History tab, and the Contacts tab.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify how to access Dropout Detective
  • Identify high-risk, medium-risk, and low-risk students
  • Navigate within the student profile to view course data
  • Document Notes and utilize the Alerts and Tags feature
  • Identify historical data related to a student's risk score and grades
  • Identify other contacts in the student's immediate support system

Marisa Rickel

Facilitator

Marisa Rickel is the Business Relationship Manager at AspirEDU, overseeing all schools within the Mississippi Community College System. With over two years in this role, she supports around 150 K12 school districts and Higher Education institutions worldwide. Marisa holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Kent State University and is a licensed Ohio educator for Mathematics and CTE. Before her current position, she taught Engineering Design and Geometry at a STEM+M high school for seven years. During that time, she also served as the Canvas and Dropout Detective administrator for the district, regularly designing professional development for users.
