Each MSVCC Academy Forum will utilize a supplemental Canvas course that will be used by the participant to access overview, support, and content (including the Zoom link to join the session). Participants may elect to access the supplemental course prior to the date of the forum in order to review related materials. To receive a certificate of completion and credit for attending the forum, please know that you MUST complete all of the requirements of the course (including the quiz at the end). The Mississippi Community College Board and MSVCC Academy are pleased to offer a half-day virtual forum on federally regulated Professional Licensure compliance. The three-part session, Professional Licensure: Under Construction will feature panelists from The University of Mississippi, The University of Southern Mississippi, and The University of Mississippi Medical Center who have extensive experience and a wealth of knowledge that will help broaden the understanding of federal regulations associated with professional licensure to ensure compliance. Tune in to find out the “why” behind professional licensure and best practices and approaches for navigating relevant federal requirements.

A recording of this session will be made available to all registered participants.


Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify professional licensure and certification requirements
  • Identify methods for obtaining licensure beyond initial licensure
  • Review alternate approaches to professional licensure disclosures



The MSVCC Academy is pleased to introduce the panelists for this session. Kenneth M. Heard, III is the Director of Department of State Authorization at The University of Mississippi Medical Center (2015-present) and previously held both Senior and General Contract Administrator roles at UMMC. Heard graduated from the Mississippi College School of Law. Additionally, Heard serves as a member of the Academic Affairs Council, Academic Integrity Council, and the Potential Academic Change Committee. Anne M. Klingen is the director of online design and eLearning at The University of Mississippi (2001-present). She previously worked for the University of Memphis and the FDIC. She holds a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences, and a Juris Doctor. She currently serves on the NC-SARA Institution Advisory Committee and the SAN Institutional Engagement Special Interest Team. Jennifer S. Lewis serves as The University of Southern Mississippi's (USM) Associate Director of Compliance and Ethics as of July 2019.  Ms. Lewis previously served as the institution's Assistant Director of Compliance and Ethics (2019-2020) and USM's Compliance Coordinator (2015-2019). She holds a Masters in Adult Education & Training, and a Master's in Healthcare Administration. Currently, Ms. Lewis is working on her Ph.D. in Higher Education focused on Student Affairs at USM.
