Each MSVCC Academy Webinar will utilize a supplemental Canvas course that will be used by the participant to access overview, support, and content (including the Zoom link to join the webinar). Participants may elect to access the supplemental course prior to the date of the webinar in order to review related materials. To receive a certificate of completion and credit for attending the webinar, please know that you MUST complete all of the requirements of the course (including the quiz at the end). Instructions for accessing the supplemental course prior to the date of the webinar can be found here:   


This webinar is part of a series of Instructional Technology webinars that will accompany the Course Development Program (CDP). Each webinar in the series will address corresponding topics from a course in the CDP. The CDP IT Webinar: Interactions will focus on utilizing course technologies to facilitate engagement and promote active learning during various types of course interactions. While completing the webinars as they are offered is encouraged, the CDP IT Webinar series does not have to be completed in order. It is also encouraged, but not required, that participants enroll in the corresponding CDP course in order to fully benefit from the webinar content.

  • Select tools for promoting interaction-based active learning that maps to learning objectives and activities
  • Discuss options for using course technologies for providing feedback and collaboration opportunities



Dr. Wilhite

Christa Wilhite


This webinar is being taught by Dr. Christa Wilhite, the Instructional Design Specialist for the Division of eLearning and Instructional Technology at the Mississippi Community College Board. Christa is a graduate of the University of Alabama and holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. Professionally, Christa is focused on integrating technology into instructional practices to create learning experiences that are cohesive across modes of delivery. In her personal life, Christa enjoys applying learning and motivational constructs when working with dogs in a training environment.
